Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Saranya .Valivarthi || M.Durga Rao |
Abstract: This paper deals with the concrete made of wastes which are ecofriendly so called as green concrete. To study the compressive strength, tensile strength of fibre reinforced green concrete (FRGC) containing fibers of 0.71% and with different percentages of stone dust, marble sludge we are using M-30 grade of concrete having mix proportion 1:1.92:2.76 with water cement ratio 0.41. The result data obtained has been analyzed and compared with a control specimen (0% fiber). A relationship between compressive strength and flexural strength is represented graphically. Result shows the percentage increase in 28 days Compressive strength, Flexural strength for M-30 Grade of Concrete............

Title | : | A Corrosion Initiation Prediction Model for Reinforced Concrete Structures in Coastal Areas of the Arabian Gulf |
Country | : | Egypt |
Authors | : | Mohamed R. Sakr || Osama El-Mahdy || Karim El-Dash |
Abstract: Chloride-induced corrosion is the main threat for structures located in the Arabian Gulf coastal areas. So, it is important predict its initiation time to evaluate the performance of structures.In this paper, a prediction model is proposed for this purpose to be applied in the Arabian Gulf coastal areas. The model is solved numerically by the Finite Element Method, and verified by application on an existing building in the United Arab Emirates. The proposed modelis found to be well predict the chloride penetration in concrete and can be used for the durability design of new structures or the assessment of existing structures. Also, it is found that assuming the surface chloride concentration at interior elements in the structures to be half of that at the exterior elements is a good approximation when predicting its initiation time

Title | : | Comparative Study of Population Forecasting Methods |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dinesh W. Gawatre || Mahesh H. Kandgule || Shankar D. Kharat |
Abstract: Precise calculation of population contributes in various aspects of providing fascilities to the public. In civil engineering, many structures like sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, sizes of reservoires, storage tanks etc., are dependant upon the future population of the area for a specific design period.more or less the population than the actual population if taken it may hamper the project objective. Therefore one need to figure outaccurately the population of desired span of years. The report has been prepared to compare the various population forecasting methods.

Title | : | Predicting the Suitability of Biogas Optimization from the Co-digestion of Plantain Peels and Poultry Waste Using Scheffe's Second Degree Polynomials |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Aniekan Udeme || Samuel Assam || Nnamnso Nnana || Ubong Ukpekpe |
Abstract: The optimization of biogas from poultry waste and plantain peels for biogas production was embarked on in this research work. The aim of this research is to determine the sustainability of poultry waste and plantain peels for biogas production. For the production, five batch digesters labeled A to E were designed and operated at room temperature for 35 days to study the biogas yield. Digester E was observed to commence production within 24 hours after loading while digester A, C, and D commences production after 96 hours and 24 hours respectively, while digester B did not yield any gas. The cumulative yield of A, C, D and E were observed to be 184. 9ml, l29ml, 287.41ml and 336.1ml respectively while digester B produce 0ml.

Title | : | An extensive study on the quantification of human errors that hampers the performance and construction of structure particularly in geotechnical ambit |
Country | : | Malaysia |
Authors | : | Danish Kazmi || Sadaf Qasim || Indra Harahap || Syed Baharom Azhar |
Abstract: Quantification of human errors is generally a baffling work to undertake in any of the industry. With reference to the construction industry, due to scarcity of databases, no widely standard operating procedures until now have been comprehensively adopted. In fact, without methodical database management systems it seems to be quite difficult to quantify the human errors as behavioral aspects of humans are more or less the same in every industry. The main objective of this study is to identify the negligence in construction industry particularly associated with geotechnical engineering in relation to human errors or uncertainties..........

Authors | : | Naoto Kaneko || Hiroyuki Nagahama |
Abstract: Settlement of ground can be explained by Terzaghi's theory of consolidation in the field of soil mechanics. Terzaghi introduced the concept of strain to the consolidation equation in the theory. On the other hand, the diffusion-like equation for earthquake prediction can explain precursory phenomena such as crustal movement and electrical resistivity closely link to the relationship between magnitude and precursor time..........

Title | : | Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) |
Country | : | Egypt |
Authors | : | K.I.M.Ibrahim |
Abstract: Concrete is most widely used construction material in the world. Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is a concrete in which small and discontinuous fibers are dispersed uniformly. The fibers used in FRC may be of different materials like steel, carbon, glass, aramid, asbestos, polypropylene, etc. The addition of these fibers into concrete mass can dramatically increase the compressive strength, tensile strength, flexural strength and impact strength of concrete...........

Title | : | Demand forecasting, Economic Order Quantity and inventory costs calculation of a company producing solar panels |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Puneet Bhatia || Kartik Gupta || Rishabh Dua |
Abstract: Forecasting accuracy drives the performance of inventory management. This study involves forecasting the sales of PV modules of a solar panel manufacturing company by demand forecasting methods including regression and exponential smoothing models. Demand forecasted is used to control inventory, minimize cost of ordering and holding inventory. The model should propose a viable economic order quantity which reduces the total cost of the plan.

Abstract: With the increasing number of vehicle possession and severe hike in consumption natural fuels which are obviously limited and on the verge of extinction, the area of energy conservation and saving have received great attention from automobile manufacturers and the government all over the world. Usually the vibration energy caused by road roughness when the runs have not being paid attention to and it is wasted through conversion to thermal energy. If the vibration energy can be recovered and converted to other form of energy so as to supply for other devices then the aim of eco-friendly energy saving is reached.........

Abstract: Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) are seen as the opportunity to circumvent the budgetary and technical constraints to develop public infrastructures. PPPs are representing a useful tool for developing nations to boost the economic development by means of inducing private sector in public infrastructure business. Nevertheless, developing and managing PPPs has never been an easy job. The history is full of failed and flawed PPPs, which have yielded heavy losses to the public. As a matter of fact, there are a number of factors that collectively define the perfect environment for a successful PPP. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for.................

Country | : | China |
Authors | : | Yan Li-Mei || Tang Qi-Hao |
Abstract: The Neutral indirectly grounded system has the characters of high stability and reliability so that has been applied in distribution network widely. By analyzing the principle and advantages of extended prony algorithm and researching the characteristics of steady state and transient process of single phase earth fault system, the method of using amplitude and phase of zero sequence current of the fault line and non-faulted line to determine the fault line is provided. The simulations of Matlab shows that the extended prony algorithm has a good performance on neutral indirectly grounded system.

Title | : | Research on Speed Control of Brushless DC Motor Based On Predictive PI Control |
Country | : | China |
Authors | : | Yan Li-mei || Tang Qi-hao |
Abstract: The traditional PI control method is used to control the brushless DC motor with the disadvantage that the proportional and integral parameters are constant. So an advanced method of predictive PI control is proposed, which predicts the value of speed of next moment by multi-order incremental method based on the current and previous speed of brushless DC motor. And the simulation model is established by MATLAB. Then the results that the method is better than traditional PI control and fuzzy control in the speed modulation, specific performances: faster response, less overshoot, stable anti-disturbance and better stability
