Title | : | Invitro Antibacterial Potentiality of Luminitzera racemosa Against Multiple Drug Resistant And Drug Sensitive Bacterial Strains |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Suri.Sunita || Pinapothu.Satya Veni || Amara.Srinivasulu |
Abstract: Ethno-medicinal plants have been used throughout the world for centuries as drugs and remedies for various diseases. Since they have a great potential of producing diverse secondary metabolites that are benefit to mankind, scientists are attempting many approaches to identify the new biologically active principles in plants of different habitat. Green medicine is safer than synthetic drugs as these are associated with less cytotoxicity. This study was designed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of Luminitzera racemosa stem extract in different solvents against clinically important drug resistant Gram-positive strains viz., Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, drug resistant Gram-negative strains -Escherichia coli & Klebsiella pneumonia and drug sensitive Gram-positive strains- Bacillus subtilis and drug sensitive Gram-negative strains- Enterobacter aerogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa by agar well diffusion method.

Abstract: Human cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a vernacular name of the human herpesvirus 5, a highly host specific virus of the Herpesviridae family. In 1956, Margaret G. Smith recovered the first isolate from the submaxillary gland tissue of a dead infant. It is a enveloped virus with a double stranded DNA genome.

Title | : | A Check List of Phytoplankton Flora in Two Industrial Effluent in Kakuri Kaduna Nigeria |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Suzie Kuyet Zaky || A. G Ezra || A. AbdulHmed |
Abstract: This study presents a first compilation of phytoplankton species composition of an industrial effluent (waste) water of coca cola and 7up bottling company of kakuri Kaduna south Nigeria. Sample collection spanned a period of 12 month April 2009 to may 2010. Phytoplankton sample were collected monthly in the open water using a plankton net mesh size 55mm towed at low speed for 10 minutes. The net hauls were transferred into two liter jar screened tight and properly labeled and samples immediately presented with 4% umbuffered formation solution and analysis at the laboratory, phytoplankton was identified microscopically and recovered following the method suggested by valenkar and Desai (2004).

Abstract: In present time obesity has attained a major focus of research as one of the nutritional problems in developed and developing countries. In India this number is increasing day by day due to changing life style in all age group. In this study the prevalence of overweight and obesity were estimated from 105 school going Bengali preadolescent children from middle income-group urban families of Midnapore town, West Bengal, India. They were divided into control, overweight and obese group of each sex according to the respective BMI percentile value. Anthropometric variables, physiological variables, and several motor quality variables were measured. Result obtained revealed that the prevalence of obesity was 18.8% among boys and 23% among girls. The obese group showed increased value of anthropometric parameters.

Title | : | Evaluation of CK MB levels in Acute Ischemic stroke |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Bogarapu Kiranmayi M.D || Dr. V. Bhavani M.D || Dr. R. Tagore |
Abstract:Stroke is a cerebrovascular event in which neurological deficit develops over minutes or hours, sometimes in a stepwise fashion, persists for 24 hours or more and is caused by a vascular disturbance such as arterial occlusion with consequent ischemic focal infarction of the brain. Various studies in these patients with stroke have shown to have myocardial injury. Electrocardiographic (ECG) abnormalities also have been observed in these patients but most cases do not show acute coronary artery disease. Cardiac enzymes like creatine kinase myocardial sub fraction (CK-MB) which are specific for myocardial infarction loses its specificity in patients with stroke

Title | : | Status Of Dyslipidemia Management With Statins, In In-Patients With Known Coronary Artery Disease Confirmed By Angiographic Findings |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Kamala K || Jhansi Rani || Vijay T || MBaruah DK |
Abstract: To determine the status of dyslipidemia management with statins in In-patients with known Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) confirmed by angiographic findings. This study has been conducted in a corporate cardiac centre at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This study is a retrospective analysis of data collected from the electronic medical records in terms of age, sex, CAD status, associated risk factors, statin usage, and lipid parameters. Among a sample of 92 known CAD in-patients, 81.5% achieved LDL-C goal of <100 mg/dl as recommended by Third Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) Adult Treatment Panel III [ATP III] for CAD and CAD risk equivalents. Success rates among males and females are 79.7% and 85% respectively. 78.2% of 69 patients on Atorvastatin, 85% of 20 patients on Rosuvastatin and 100% of 3 patients on Simvastatin achieved LDL-C goal.

Title | : | Serum Creatine Kinase, Lactate Dehydrogenase and Lipid Profile In Patients With Asthma |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.V.Umalakshmi, MD || Dr.K.Bhargavi MD |
Abstract: Asthma is heterogenous disease with different phenotypes,triggered by multiple gene environment interactions.Majority of affected people have only occasional attacks of slight to moderate severity,which are managed with relative ease.The airway inflammation in asthma is associated with airway hyperresponsiveness correlated with variable airflow obstruction.Superimposed on this chronic inflammation state are acute episodes which corresponds to exacerbations of asthma.

Title | : | Study of Thyroid Profile in Infertile Women |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. N. Sridevi || Dr. M. Sandhya rani |
Abstract: Infertility is the inability of a couple to conceive for more than a year of having regular unprotected intercourse. It can be divided into two broad categories – primary and secondary infertility. Primary infertility refers to the inability to ever have a child. Secondary infertility refers to those cases where people have had children but fail to conceive after that. An average estimate suggests that 60-80 million couples suffer from infertility, out of which 15-20 million couples belong to India. Thyroid hormones are essential for normal growth, sexual development and reproductive function. Thus thyroid dysfunctions may have a great impact on fertility in females.

Abstract: In this work, a method to determine lead in herbal syrups by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF AAS), after simple and rapid preparation of samples (with syrup sample 20% v/v, nitric acid 1.2% v/v, Triton X-100 1.2% v/v and water to complete the volume for 1.0 mL) and multivariate optimization of the main variables of interest, is presented. The best modifier was permanent tantalum (520 μg) on the L'vov platform with pyrolysis and atomization temperatures of 700and 1900ºC and pyrolysis time of 50s.

Title | : | Comparative Study of Pulmonary Function Tests in Sedentary Individuals and Dynamic Exercising People |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. C. Indira Devi M. D || Dr. W. Maruthi M.D |
Abstract: The field of exercise physiology is at the dawn of a new era. Exercise can play a role in shaping one's life style.Jogging, and walking are dynamic exercises, play a dominant role in individual's total health. The pulmonary physicians admit the dynamic exercise is beneficial to prevent respiratory diseases . The dynamic exercise's positive impact includes pulmonary physioloy. The pulmonary function tests evaluate the respiratory system. They are ventilatory function tests. The oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production may go up to 25 times depending on severity of the exercise and the alveolar and arterial PO2 and PCO2 are maintained normal during the strenuous exercise, by increase in pulmonary ventilation and changes at the tissues level.
