Abstract: The period from 1971 to 2000 marked a pivotal phase for child education in Bangladesh, shaped by the country's independence and its commitment to building a robust educational system. During these years, the Bangladeshi government launched several initiatives to improve access to and quality of primary education. This overview highlights the key policies and programs introduced their impacts, challenges encountered, and the outcomes achieved. This article examines various government measures aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for children, particularly at the primary level, during the late 20th century.
