Abstract: The study investigated Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) of carbon steel exposed to Marine/Estuarine Sediment (MWSS) in Delta State, employing a combination of physicochemical analysis, corrosion rate assessments, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing (metagenomics). This research established a robust framework linking specific microbial communities to material degradation.
