Abstract: Agadatantra, the branch of toxicology in Ayurveda, refers to various methods of eliminating toxins from the body that arises from animate, inanimate, and artificial poisons. Scorpion stings are a serious health concern in rural areas. In Agadatantra, the symptoms of scorpion sting are explained under Vrischika visha (~scorpion venom poisoning). The main characteristics of scorpion venom poisoning are Vahnivat dahanam (~burning sensation....

Abstract: Neonatal varicella is a rare but potentially severe infection acquired perinatally, particularly when maternal varicella occurs near delivery. We present a case of a 19-day-old term neonate with vesicular rash following maternal varicella in the peripartum period. Early diagnosis, intravenous acyclovir, and supportive care led to a favourable outcome. This case reinforces the importance of maternal immunization and timely neonatal intervention.

Abstract: The use of technology in the healthcare industry has had a profound effect on the operations of hospitals, with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) being the core in the achievement of efficiency and quality in healthcare delivery. However, the success of technology in healthcare delivery largely depends on the acceptance and perception of the users. This study sought to establish the effect of the adoption of Hospital Information Systems and the perception...

Abstract: Osteoid osteomas are small, benign, osteogenic bone lesions, most commonly found in the proximal femur of individuals aged 5–25 years. They characteristically present with night pain relieved by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and a radiographic nidus <1.5 cm. However, their occurrence at a previous fracture site....

Abstract: Purpose: Report a young adult with branch retinal vein occlusion associated with hyperhomocysteinemia. Methods: Case report of a 35-year-old male with clinical examination, OCT, laboratory evaluation, treatment, and follow-up.
Results: Left superotemporal BRVO with cystoid macular edema (CMT 528 μm) and elevated homocysteine (37.04 μmol/L). Following intravitreal ranibizumab, OCT showed resolution of cystoid edema and CMT decreased to 352 μm.
Conclusions: Young patients with BRVO should be evaluated for thrombophilia, including hyperhomocysteinemia....

Abstract: Background: Preoperative overnight fasting has traditionally been practiced to reduce pulmonary aspiration during general anaesthesia but may lead to patient discomfort, dehydration, and insulin resistance. Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) guidelines recommend clear carbohydrate drinks up to 2 hours before surgery. This study evaluated the effect of preoperative carbohydrate loading on gastric contents using point-of-care gastric ultrasonography...

Abstract: Background. Serum food-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) panels are frequently requested during the evaluation of chronic urticaria and persistent pruritus, yet laboratory sensitization correlates poorly with clinically relevant food allergy. International guidelines do not recommend routine food testing in chronic spontaneous urticaria, but elimination diets based solely on panel positivity remain common in everyday practice.

Abstract: Severe corneal abscess is an infectious emergency in daily ophthalmology due to the proliferation of microorganisms in the cornea. Serious and potentially blind pathology despite considerable therapeutic progress, we wanted to review their epidemiology, clinical and bacteriological aspects through a retrospective survey conducted between January 2021 and December 2022 in the ophthalmology department of the 20 August Hospital in Casablanca, involving 120 patients affected, hospitalized and followed for a severe corneal abscess. Our results were comparable to the majority of recently published series of severe corneal abscesses. The prevalence of this condition is constantly....

Abstract: Ceramic veneers represent a minimally invasive solution in contemporary aesthetic dentistry, whose success depends on correct indication, preservation of enamel, material selection, the adhesive protocol, and occlusal control. IPS e.max, a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic, offers good translucency, natural optical integration, and reliable adhesion through hydrofluoric acid etching, silanization, and cementation with an adhesive resin cement. Zirconia possesses higher flexural strength, greater fracture resistance, and superior masking of the substrate, but..

Abstract: Background: Cephalometric analysis plays a vital role in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. The ANB angle, introduced by Steiner, is widely utilized to assess sagittal skeletal relationships between the maxilla and mandible. However, this angle is known to vary across populations due to genetic, ethnic, and environmental influences, affecting craniofacial morphology. This study aims to evaluate the normalised ANB angle specific to the North Karnataka population to establish population-specific cephalometric norms, thereby enhancing diagnostic.....
