Abstract: Background: This article aimed to verify the hypothesis that females are disadvantaged compared to males in the Financial Literacy (FL) of young people, and to investigate the variation in the influence of variables on FL, according to the gender of the PISA 2018 participant, in Brazil.
Materials and Methods: The sample of this research is composed of 8,311 Brazilian young people aged between 15 years and 2 months and 16 years and 3 months, from 597 schools, who answered the questionnaire evaluating the LF domain. The model proposed for data analysis is composed of a dependent variable, the LF indicator, and nine independent variables in addition to the control variables: Level of education attended by the student, Gender, Mother's Education and Family Socioeconomic Status (SSF).......
