Abstract: Background: Zirconomer is a zirconia-reinforced glass ionomer restorative material with improved mechanical properties; however, its performance under occlusal loading may be influenced by the presence of surface defects and moisture-related degradation. Protective resin coatings have been reported to improve the surface integrity and mechanical properties of glass-ionomer-based restorative materials. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the fracture resistance of Zirconomer restorations coated with G-Coat Plus and Fusion Nano Coat following thermocycling....

Abstract: Cervical cancer remains an important public-health problem in Nigeria, although much of its burden can be reduced through human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination and appropriate screening. Despite the availability of HPV vaccination, awareness and uptake remain limited in some communities. This study assessed the knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of women of childbearing age regarding cervical cancer vaccination in Gesse Phase 1, Birnin Kebbi......

Abstract: Background: Osseointegration failure and chronic peri-implant and periodontal inflammation remain major sources of long-term complications in restorative and implant dentistry. Failure of inflammation resolution, rather than initiation alone, has emerged as a central mechanism, with efferocytosis, the phagocytic clearance of apoptotic cells by macrophages, recognized as pivotal to this process. Objective: To synthesize current evidence on the role of efferocytosis in periodontal, periapical, and peri-implant disease, and to examine its causal contribution to osseointegration failure. Methods: A narrative review of PubMed-indexed studies covering the basic biology of efferocytosis....

Abstract: Background: Whether root canal treatment should be completed in one or more visits has been debated for decades. Since 2018, higher-quality evidence and new technologies (the dental operating microscope, cone-beam computed tomography and laser-activated irrigation) have changed the terms of that debate. Materials and Methods: Narrative review updating a 2018 specialization monograph. PubMed/MEDLINE was searched to September.....

Abstract: Background: Nutritional problems among tribal communities may occur in the form of both undernutrition and excess body weight. However, information on the nutritional status of adult Oraons in Odisha is limited. The present study was undertaken to assess BMI and the prevalence of chronic energy deficiency (CED) among adult Oraons of Sambalpur district, Odisha.
Materials and Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 783 Oraon subjects aged 20 years and above from selected settlements of Dhankauda and Rengali areas of Sambalpur district. The study included....

Abstract: Background: MassHealth covers comprehensive orthodontic treatment only for members under 21 with a severe and handicapping malocclusion, operationalised through Appendix D of the Dental Manual as a Handicapping Labio-Lingual Deviation (HLD) index score of 22 or an autoqualifying condition. Below that threshold the sole remaining route is a medical-necessity narrative, three of whose five enumerated grounds require the mental, nutritional or speech condition to be "caused by the patient's malocclusion." Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) —....
