Abstract: The nutritional status of school-aged children in Abia State was investigated. A sample of 450 school children was included in the study. The analysis of the anthropometric data was carried out via the WHO Anthro-software. The anthropometric results revealed that 7.6%, 20.8%, 4.4% and 1.10 % were underweight, stunted, wasting and overweight respectively. The proximate composition results of the children's ready-to-eat food showed that fried plantain had the lowest moisture content of 40.1%, and pap/maize gruel (Akamu) had the highest value of 84.6......

Abstract: Globally, diabetes mellitus (DM), a chronic metabolic disease marked by persistent hyperglycemia, causes a considerable amount of morbidity and mortality. To test treatment approaches and clarify illness causes, animal models are crucial. With its specific cytotoxicity targeting pancreatic β-cells through GLUT2-mediated uptake, streptozotocin (STZ), a glucosamine-nitrosourea combination, is frequently used to induce experimental diabetes in mice. STZ triggers DNA alkylation, oxidative stress, and β-cell death, leading to insulin insufficiency and hyperglycemia.Different diabetic.......

Abstract: Background: Vitamin D is a lipid‑soluble vitamin synthesized mainly under the skin during exposure to UVB (ultraviolet B) of sunlight. Due to the increasing prevalence of indoor lifestyles and various other metabolic and physiological factors, Vitamin D deficiency is now extremely widespread globally. Research has shown that Vitamin D deficiency (<20ng/ml) was found to be more prevalent in menopausal women than in reproductive age groups of women...........

Abstract: Oxidative stress is a pathological condition that arises due to an imbalance between reactive oxygen species produced and the body's antioxidant defense to neutralize them. This stress has been linked to the pathogenesis of several diseases in animals as well as plants. The present study was designed with the aim of investigating oxidative stress markers in some common indigenous plants of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, under natural environmental conditions. Catalase activity and lipid peroxidation levels were assessed in the fresh leaves of Azadirachta indica (Neem), Ficus religiosa (Peepal), Ocimum tenuiflorum...........

Abstract: This study presents a systematic methodology for the molecular characterization of wild mushrooms collected from the Bhopal region. A part of three years, mushroom biodiversity was documented, and DNA was extracted, preserved, and amplified using internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region primers (ITS1 and ITS4). The protocol includes cryopreservation in liquid nitrogen, DNA extraction with a Tris-EDTA-SDS lysis buffer, and purification using chloroform:isoamyl alcohol and ethanol precipitation. Amplification of the ITS region was performed to validate the quality and presence of fungal DNA, enabling further molecular identification and phylogenetic analysis. This methodological framework contributes significantly to the genetic cataloging of mushroom species in Central India.
