ABSTRACT: Food insecurity and hunger share much in common as they simultaneously affect the same persons. A food secured household has available enough culturally acceptable, nutritious food to subdue hunger and meet every of her dietary need. A food insecure household lives in lack of the culturally acceptable, nutritious foods and lack easy access to such foods and lives with hunger and is unable to meet her dietary needs over time. Hunger is a subjective feeling.......

ABSTRACT: The study assessed the influence of formulated organo-mineral fertilizers on soil physico-chemical properties and okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) productivity for two years in Abraka, Delta State. Six treatments - control (T1), NPK15:15:15 (T2), compost+NPK (T3), compost+N (T4), compost+PK (T5) and sole compost (T6) were applied. Clemson spineless okra variety was used to test the effectiveness of the fertilizers. Sawdust, wood shavings, rice bran, poultry droppings, pig dung and cattle dung were used to prepare compost which was used to formulate fertilizers at a ratio of 4:1 (compost: mineral fertilizer). NPK15:15:15 applied at the rate of 250kg/ha, organo-mineral.......
Keywords: Assessing, influence, organomineral fertilizers, soil properties and okra productivity.

ABSTRACT: The field experiment was conducted at the Crop Research Farm of SHUATS to investigate the N, P, K, S, Zn, crude protein, amylose, amylopectin and starch contents in rice grain at different doses of zinc and sulfur fertilization. Four levels each of zinc (0, 3, 6, 9 kg ha-1) and sulfur (0, 15, 30, 45 kg ha-1) were used following factorial randomized block design with three replications. Zinc and sulfur significantly influenced nitrogen content in rice grain. The concentration of phosphorus in grain was antagonistically and synergistically influenced by nutrients Zn and S, respectively. The highest grain phosphorus concentration reaching 3.70 mg g-1 was observed.......

ABSTRACT: Smallholder sugarcane farmers require both effective crop-management support and financing arrangements that reflect the long interval between production expenditure and harvest income. This study examined associations between experiential learning-based technical assistance, perceived sugarcane productivity, and loan repayment patterns in Awendo and Uriri sub-counties of Migori County, Kenya. A convergent parallel mixed-methods design combined...

ABSTRACT: Climate-resilient value-chain development requires locally attributable evidence on production practices, advisory services, institutional capacity, and market constraints. This study synthesized Migori County evidence from 12 Climate Resilient, Low Carbon, and Sustainable Agriculture (CRLCSA) assessment documents, comprising four narrative reports and eight Kobo Toolbox report exports. County-labelled submissions were separated....
