Abstract: Uncommon presence of rare-metal mineralization is recorded in the mineralized pegmatite injected in Wadi El Sheih older granitoids at the central Eastern Desert of Egypt. The studied mineralization was found as distinguishable megascopic crystals of economic minerals scattered within the pegmatitic bodies. Detailed mineralogical and chemical investigation were carried out using microscopic examinations, x-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscope (SEM) providing with energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and x-ray fluorescence (XRF). These studies revealed the presence of several valuable minerals such as euxenite-(Y), fergusonite-(Y), allanite-(Ce), and xenotime-(Y), in addition to uranothorite and zircon. Accordingly, the mineralized Wadi El Sheih pegmatite can be considered as a promising target ore for its rare metal mineralization that includes mainly Nb, Ta, Y, U, Th, and REE together with Zr and Hf.

Abstract: Water is a key driver of economic and social development and is one of the fundamental elements in sustaining the integrity of the natural environment. It is the major renewable resource amongst the various natural resources. Water being an vital constituent for all life supporting processes, its assessment, conservation, development and management is of great concern for all those who manage, facilitate and utilize, issues related to water resources development and management .These studies should not be carried out in isolation but should be coupled and inter-related with other human activities. The water shed programmes would benefit immensely from systematic hydro geological studies as groundwater resources form an important aspect in most watershed development programmes (Kulkarni, 1998). Effective watershed management can prevent community water shortages, poor water quality, flooding and erosion. The expense of undertaking watershed management is far less than the cost of future remediation......

Abstract: Airborne magnetic dataset Studies were carried out in parts of Southeastern Nigeria. The study area is bounded by latitudes 5o00' N and 6o30' N and longitudes 7o00' E and 8o30' E, covering an area extent of about 27,225km2. Airborne magnetic data covering the study area was acquired, processed, and interpreted with the aim of appraising geothermal potential in the study area. Various data enhancement techniques were carried out on the magnetic data in order to filter unwanted signals. Analysis such as sediment thickness, Curie point Depth, Geothermal gradient and heat flow of the study area were carried out. The Curie Point Depth obtained in the study area ranges from 5699.183 to 20156.59km with the shallow depth at Ugep, Afikpo, and Ezeagu. Geothermal gradient within the study area ranges from 28.757 and 83.0980ckm-1. Heat flow ranges from 71.936m wm-2 to 207.746mwm-2. The result reveals that, the Curie Point Depth varies inversely with heat flow. This shows that heat flow in the study area decreases with increases in curie depth.
