Abstract: Over the last years, several methods have been developed to collect point clouds that enable describing objects, which can support mapping and understanding urban furniture for urban planning and management. Considering the data volume, automatic methods are needed to speed up the object extraction from the point cloud. In this paper it is introduced a method for detecting and classifying poles using point cloud data acquired from a mobile terrestrial laser scanner. First, the 2D density is analyzed to locate and segment the probable objects. Then the geometry of the pole is modeled. The detected objects were further categorized into their respective top and pole components, and relevant variables were calculated for classification using a neural network. The results of.....

Abstract: The climate situation in Central Asia in the second half of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century is characterized by the fact that on the western periphery of the Central Asian Mountain system, horizontal and vertical air temperature gradients change over time and the nature of their changes leads to a reduction in mountain glaciation. Over the past 45 years, glaciers in some Gissar-Alai river basins have lost about 16% of their area, and glaciers in the Pskem river basin have lost 27% of their area. The regime of rivers and the potential for outburst of mountain lakes respond to the reduction of glaciers......

Abstract: This study presents a comprehensive assessment of salt-affected land in Bhattu Kalan, Fatehabad District, employing advanced Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques. Salt-affected soil poses a significant challenge to agricultural productivity and land use, necessitating an in-depth analysis for effective mitigation strategies. This study assesses the amount, distribution, and severity of salt-affected areas inside Bhattu Kalan using multi-temporal satellite images and GIS......
