Abstract: Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic drug that has a toxic effect when it is used with excessive doses. The toxicity of paracetamol is caused by the formation of NAPQI reactive metabolites and paracetamol inducing the formation of free radicals which can cause liver cell damage. This study aims to test the hepatoprotective activity of ethanol extract of girang leaves (Leea angulata Korth. Ex Miq) in male white rats of the Wistar strain.Acute liver damage was done by inducing paracetamol at a dose of 750 mg / kg BW. Ethanol extract of girang leaves was given at a dose of 50, 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg per oral for 14 days. Liver biochemical parameters (ALT activity) of rat............

Abstract: The present study was designed to investigate the role of L-ergothioneine supplement against cisplatin-induced reproductive toxicity in male wistar rats, regarding the antioxidant and cytoprotectant property of this supplement, and redox indices generated by cisplatin administration during administration.Twenty adult male wistar rats randomly divided into four groups (n=5) were used in this study and subjected to treatment as follows; Group I (control) received 10mL/kg distilled water for 14days; Group II (Cis alone) received a single dose........

Abstract: Amoxicillin/clavulanate (AC), which is effectively used in the treatment of several number of bacterial infections, may cause hepatotoxicity. Cinnamon extract contains natural products which showed antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. In the present study, two doses of AC, therapeutic (30 mg/kg) and double therapeutic (60 mg/kg), were orally given to rats alone or in combination with cinnamon (200 mg/kg) for 10 consecutive days, to test the potential protective impact of cinnamon extract against AC-induced hepatic injury. Obtained results showed significant increases in serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST),.......

Abstract: Caesalpinia Crista Seeds stores robust phytochemicals responsible for several therapeutic efficacy, hence it has been using from ancient time in the folk medicine. Although, researchers putting effort to validate its stored health benefits, its role in thrombosis was least explored. Thus, current study investigate the anticoagulant, antiplatelet and clot lysis efficiency of Caesalpinia Crista Seed Aqueous Extract (CCSAE). The protein blue prints of CCSAE revealed similar banding pattern from 15-200 kDa on 10 % SDS-PAGE suggests that CCSAE reserves only monomeric proteins. CCSAE exhibited proteolytic activity by degrading casein and gelatin with the specific activity of 0.160.......
